Transmoddercouldalsobecalledatransientmodification
system,sinceitallowstheusertomodifytheaudiomaterial
bymeansofdynamicfiltering--inaccordancewiththe
transientcontentofthesignal--deliveringspectacularsonic
pronunciationanddefinition.

ThecoreelementofTransmodderisthetransientanalyzer
whichprocessesnarrow-orbroad-bandsignalsanddetectsall
rising-leveltransientssuchassnaredrum,bassdrum,high
hathits,vocalsibilantsandothertypesoftransients.In
thecourseofdetection,thetransientanalyzergeneratesan
envelopesignalwhichreplicatesthetransientstructureof
thesignalbeinganalyzed.Thisalsoincludesthedetection
ofdifferencesbetweensharpandsofttransients,which
generatehighandlowenvelopelevels,respectively.

Transmodderfeaturesfivedynamicfilters.Eachcanbe
controlledbyenvelopesignalsgeneratedbyuptotwo
transientanalyzers.Thegoodthingaboutthefiltersusedin
Transmodderisthattheyworkinabypassmodewhenthe
envelopestaysatzero,causingnocolorationtotakeplace.
Thisisespeciallyusefulinmasteringapplicationswhere
processingtransparencyisusuallydesirable.

Themostevidentpurposeofthisplug-inistomakethebass
andhighfrequencycontentstandoutinthemixormakeit
lessnoticable.Thiseffectisverydifferentfromwhata
compressor/expanderdoesbecauseTransmodder'sees'transients
only.So,ifthereisacymbalsound,onlyitsverybeginning
willbe'seen'byTransmodder:thecymbalsound'sbodywillbe
leftunchanged.Moreover,transientdetectiondoesnotdepend
ontheabsoluteincomingsoundlevel,whichiswhyin
Transmodderthereisnosuchparameteras'processing
threshold'.

Transmodderisausefulmastering-stageplug-in.Sinceitis
notextremelyCPUconsumptive,itcanbeusedintrackinsert
slots,too.Transmoddercanworkextremelywellwithdrums,
guitarsandbass.Oneofthemostremarkablethinginthis
'transient'processingis,inmostcases,itaddspunchand
