INUS Technology Inc. has announced the release of RapidForm2004 Plus Pack 2, a
significant update of the company＊s popular 3D scanning software. This new
release is the first commercially available version of RapidForm to include
INUS Technology＊s PTB-certified geometric engine. New algorithms deployed in Plus
Pack 2 increase geometry fitting accuracy to better than 0.1 microns and 0.1
arcseconds, as certified by the PTB, Germany＊s foremost authority on metrology.
In addition to the enhanced geometry algorithms, the Plus Pack includes direct
control functionality for several new 3D scanners, including the 3D Digital Optix
400 and the Konica-Minolta Vivid 9i. A newly updated solid modeling process in
RapidForm＊s Feature workbench allows users to more easily convert real world
objects into CAD solid models, with automatic recognition of features and advanced
surface trim and merge commands. RapidForm is the only 3D scanning software with
the ability to create feature-aware CAD solids directly from 3D scan data.
Other new features include:
- Thickness color plotting for thin plastic molded part inspection
- Cube environment mapping for more effective surface curvature inspection
- Polygon mesh division with internal or external solid models
- Automatic error detection for NURBS curve geometry
- Enhanced Freeform Deformation and Autosurfacing for large scan data sets
