3D_Evolution Conversion Engine Loss-free data conversion with healing technology
Today, a product data processing chain is a significant competitive factor.
A break in this chain leads to a considerable increase in throughput time and
engineering costs. The loss-free conversion of 3D data is an indispensable prerequisite
for the successful integration of all systems involved ?from the virtual design through
the FEM analysis to production.
3D_Evolution Advanced Repair Technology ?converts models containing
both highly complex geometry and extensive assembly structures ?using feature
recognition, healing functions, automatic data repair,

numerous native and standard interfaces, without any losses, within the shortest space
of time, and independent of the data size.
The software was specially developed for data conversion and includes smart correction
algorithms that automatically eliminate system and construction-related errors in the
geometry. It eliminates system and construction related geometry errors, such as
overlapping, gaps and mini elements.
Furthermore, Advanced Repair Technology consistently orientates surface vectors, reduces
multi-patch surfaces, and creates topology. Quilts are corrected fully automatically
and sewn together into solids of userdefined accuracy.
The adaptive conversion optimizes the mathematical description
of the models for the respective target system by identifying canonical
surfaces such as cylinders, planes, conical and toroidal planes as
well as freeform B憴ier, B-Spline and NURBS surfaces.
This technology ensures topologically consistent models that can then be optimally
processed in the target system.
The native interfaces ?such as CATIA V4 / V5, Unigraphics, Pro/Engineer
and IDEAS ?as well the standard interfaces STEP, IGES and
VDA formats guarantee a high degree of flexibility in data exchange.
Interfaces are expanded and upgraded on an ongoing basis. On request,

available.
In interactive mode, users have visual control of inaccuracies, free edges
and structural errors. Highly effective manual repair functions supplement the automatic
correction tools as required.
For data integration into batch processing for PDM and data transmission systems,
3D_Evolution is activated through a command line and managed through its internal
script language.
