Beforereleasingtheirself-titleddebutalbum,MetalChurchreleasedademotape,calledtheFourHymns.

Thisalbumcontainedthesongs"Battalions,""Deathwish,""GodsofWrath,"and"TheBrave."Thoughthedemo

hasbeenlongout-of-print,thesongsarefreelyavailablefromtheband'swebsite.[2]

In1984,theirself-titleddebutalbumwasreleased.ThealbumincludedacoveroftheDeepPurplesong,

HighwayStar.

BythetimeMetalChurchreleasedTheDark,theyweretouringwithhigh-profileactslikeMetallica.

In1989,thebandreplacedWaynewithformerHereticsingerMikeHowe,andreleasedBlessingInDisguise.

Break-upandSolocareers(1990s)

Followingthereleaseof1991'sTheHumanFactor,Kurdtstartedworkingsolo,andlaterwithhisnewband,

"HallAflame",whichreleasedtheirdebutalbum,GuaranteedForever,throughI.R.S.Records.

Thebandbrokeupin1993afterthereleaseofHangingintheBalance.KurdtandKirkformed"Vanderhoof"and

releasedtheirself-titleddebutalbumin1997,andWayne,formed"Reverend"in1989.

Resurrection(1998-Present)

ThefoundingmembersofMetalChurchreleasedthealbumLivein1998.Thebandthenstartedworkingonanew

studioalbum.CraigWellsdepartedfromthebandduetopersonalandcreativedifferences.Hewasreplacedby

JohnMarshall.

Masterpeacewasreleasedin1999.

VanderhoofreleasedABlurinTimein2002,andKurdtstartedworkingfornewmaterialforMetalChurch'sstudio

album.

In2003DavidWaynedepartedMetalChurchagainduetopersonalandcreativedifferences.DavidWayneformedanew

bandcalledWayneandanalbumtitledMetalChurchwithformerbandmateCraigWells.

In2004,KurdtandKirkrecruitedRonnyMonroe,ex-MaliceguitaristJayReynolds,andSteveUnger.Theresultwas

thealbumWeightoftheWorld.

In2006,KirkArringtonleftthebandduetohealthcomplicationswithdiabetes.HisreplacementwasJeffPlate,

whopreviouslyworkedwithSavatage,ChrisCafferyandtheTrans-SiberianOrchestra.

OnJune26th,2006,MetalChurchreleasedtheirlatestalbum,ALightInTheDark,whichfeaturedare-recording

of"WatchtheChildrenPray",atributetoDavidWayne,whodiedin2005.
